Darrell sings lead for Common Garments. Darrell was born and raised in Memphis, TN. He attributes his love of Southern Gospel music to the abundance of Southern Gospel concerts at the auditorium in downtown Memphis. He spent most Friday and Saturday nights listening to the great male quartets: Gold City, The Cathedrals, The Kingsmen, and others. Darrell began singing when he was 21 years old at the encouragement of his friend, Mark Larue. He joined The Revelation quartet the following year and has been singing since.

Darrell joined Common Garments in 1999 as their tenor. He remained in this position until May 2004 when he decided to spend less time on the road and more time at home with his new bride. In April 2005, Darrell rejoined Common Garments to fill the lead position vacated by the group’s original lead singer, Terry Renfroe.

Darrell and his wife Gina reside in Greenwood, SC with their dogs, Lexie and Penny. They don’t have any children yet; however, they are receiving lots of parental training from their baby niece, Tori. In his spare time, Darrell enjoys watching movies, listening to his CD collection, and eating.
